As opposed to companies or farmers whose interest is to avoid the issue of indirect emissions of sugarcane and bio-ethanol production and use, NGOs highlight this issue. They blame companies and the government for solely considering the production of bio-ethanol in an economic perspective and overlooking the environmental impact of this activity. They want measures of limitation of the indirect emissions at a national and international level.
