The Brazilian government’s position on the issue is quite similar as the position of companies, i.e. with high considerations on the profitability of the production of bio-ethanol.
However, the scale of consideration is wider than for companies as it is a macro-scale level which takes into account the national competitiveness in the international concurrence on the market of green energies. As a result, like companies, the Brazilian government is regularly criticized by NGOs, like Bio-En, and farmers.
