From the web, the controversy seems not that active in Brazil where opinion is mostly favorable about this energy adaptation. In the same time, from the web, we find that the bioethanol issue is mostly presented by business actors (almost 23% from what we found), which proves the highly commercial potential and economic characters of the ethanol production.
An “industry event” category: Since we have a abundant information about the biofuel market, which is often linked with companies and industry associations. Promoters and advocators of biofuel industry: lobbying actors who have no business mission but still provide indispensable information for investors and promote the whole biofuel market. News and information: the most neutral party.
The blogs: not very active, also because of the language (Portuguese), we don’t have many local sources but they are tending to referrer to each other in general.
Most of the institutional actors are European based, very few Brazilian NGOs: (reporter and Alliancedelaterra). International institutions, NGOs and information providers are more likely to link to each other.
Some promoters are presented in online news form: like biodieselmagazine, One NGO, ICCT has a partnership with Brazilian production association Unica, but they don’t recognize each other on the web.
